Screening audiometry
The ultimate test of your hearing conservation programme
We are able to manage the whole of the screening process at your premises, by use of a fully self-contained screening unit which can be driven on site or by use of an audiometric screening booth that can be temporarily assembled on your premises.
We have expertise in a wide range of industries including engineering, manufacturing, agriculture, maritime, call-centres and the music/leisure industry.

All hearing screening is carried out by specially trained staff and each screening project is overseen by experienced qualified audiologists with experience in industrial audiometry and noise management.
We provide our reports and recommendations in straightforward language which is compliant with current legislation. We provide summaries for non-specialist managers as part of our standard reporting protocol.
Why audiometry?
Screening audiometry offers a simple way to measure hearing levels of a workforce and offers the following benefits to an organisation: -
- is the only conclusive way to validate your noise control measures and ensure that your hearing conservation programme is effective
- establishes a baseline against which hearing change can be measured and identifies pre-existing hearing loss from previous employment and other sources
- will help identify individuals who may be a safety risk in certain roles when they would be unable to hear instructions or warning signals
- may help satisfy liability insurers that appropriate steps are being taken to avoid future compensation claims for noise-induced, occupational hearing loss
Before you contact us you may wish to consider: -
Do you want on-site screening or would you prefer to come to us?
For most organisations on-site works best as it reduces employee downtime. However, if we need to test less than 15 individuals, coming to one of our bases may be more cost effective.
What level of reporting do you require?
If you have Health & Safety expertise within your organisation, you may just need raw data, but most of our customers prefer a more detailed report with a summary for non-specialists.
Do you require a medical and noise history questionnaire to be administered?
Most organisations request this as it can be used to identify any possible medical causes of hearing loss, identify previous noise history and establish consent.
We can advise you on all of the above and design an effective and efficient testing protocol customised to your individual needs.
