FM Systems Explained
Many people find that whilst their hearing aids help them to hear better, there are still some everyday environments that present challenges in relation to hearing adequately. These scenarios include listening to television, talking on the telephone, travelling in the car, and in fact anywhere where there is a high level of background noise. There are many solutions available to help in these situations, but Phonak presents a solution for all of these challenges in one. Phonak FM products are accessories for use with your existing hearing aid and can be used to help in the following environments:-
Listening to Television
Phonak SmartLink FM Transmitter
Many of the transmitters will connect easily to any TV, either through the headphone socket or via a scart lead in the back of the TV. This enables others in the room to listen to the TV at a comfortable level, whilst the hearing aid wearer has a clear signal fed direct to their hearing aid.
Using the Telephone
Communication via both mobile and landline phones is enhanced and much clearer. The transmitter is Bluetooth enabled and will act as a hands free device for answering calls on any Bluetooth mobile.
Travelling in the Car
Place the FM transmitter close to your travelling companion and the effects of engine and road noise will be removed, allowing you to hold clear, audible conversations as you travel.
Noisy Environments
Family gatherings, pubs, restaurants, meetings. All of these environments can be an uncomfortable experience for some hearing aid wearers. FM systems enhance the sound of voices, making it easier to understand speech over longer distances and in background noise.
